How to Upload Your Design

Follow these simple steps to upload your custom cake design:

1.
Select Your Custom Cake Product

Choose a custom cake from our product catalog that accepts design uploads. Some cakes require a design review: for those, use Request Custom Quote on the product page and attach your design images to the quote request instead.

2.
Click "Upload Design"

Look for the "Upload Your Design" button on the product page.

3.
Choose Your File

Select your design image file from your device. You can drag and drop or click to browse. The product page accepts JPG and PNG images.

4.
Review Your Upload

Preview your uploaded design to ensure it looks correct.

5.
Add to Cart

Once satisfied with your design, add the product to your cart with the uploaded design.

File Requirements

Supported File Formats
  • Product page upload: JPG/JPEG and PNG images
  • Cart: JPG/JPEG, PNG and PDF files
  • Request Custom Quote form: JPG/JPEG, PNG, HEIC and HEIF images
File Size Limits
  • Maximum file size: 10MB per image
  • Number of design files per product: usually up to 3 (the limit is set per product and shown on the product page)
  • Request Custom Quote form: up to 5 images
Quality Tip: For best results, upload high-resolution images (at least 1000x1000 pixels) with clear details.

Design Types

You simply upload your image; you do not need to choose a design type. Our team decides how to use it, depending on your order and the notes you add. These are the two ways we typically use an uploaded image:

Reference Design

Our decorators use your image as inspiration and create a similar design by hand.

  • Best for: General cake ideas and themes
  • Our decorators will interpret and adapt the design
  • Final result may vary from the reference
Edible Print

If your order includes an edible print, your image is printed on edible paper and placed directly on the cake.

  • Best for: Photos, logos, and exact designs
  • The image is reproduced as uploaded
  • Requires high-quality, clear images

Tips and Best Practices

For Best Results:
  • Use high-quality images: Clear, high-resolution images ensure the best cake decoration quality
  • Avoid dark backgrounds: Light or transparent backgrounds work better for edible prints
  • Check image orientation: Make sure your image is rotated correctly before uploading
  • Simple is better: Complex designs may be simplified during decoration
  • Provide clear instructions: Use the special instructions field to explain specific details

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Common Problems and Solutions:

Your file exceeds the 10MB limit. Try compressing the image or reducing its resolution. You can use online tools or image editing software to reduce file size.

Check the supported formats listed above for the page you are using. The product page accepts only JPG and PNG, so convert your image (for example from HEIC) using an image converter or editing software. HEIC/HEIF photos can be attached to the Request Custom Quote form.

Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, try uploading a smaller file or contact our support team.
